Fabric weight & composition	Heavier weight denim (e.g., 12oz-14oz) tends to be more durable and holds shape better. Stretch or “comfort” blends are fine too — just check how they hold up over time.
Denim weave and feel	A tighter weave often means less bagging and longer life. The “feel” should reflect fabric that is substantial (not overly thin or papery).
Stitching & hardware	Check the stitching: consistent, no loose threads, reinforced at stress points (pockets, belt loops, crotch). Hardware (buttons, rivets, zippers) should feel sturdy, not flimsy.
Fit & cut	The fit should suit your body type: waist, thigh, rise, leg opening all matter. A good fit enhances both comfort and style.
